Modern London Wedding in Stoke Newington and MC Motors - Emily & Jamie

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY AT MC MOTORS IN LONDON

2018 is drawing to a close and I’m finally having a chance to catch up on blogging what has been my favourite year yet. So many beautiful weddings, amazing couples and locations near and far. This wedding couldn’t have been closer, however, from my home in Hackney.

Emily is part of a book club and I have already photographed her friend Alice’s Smithfield’s wedding and am looking forward to their other friend Olivia’s wedding next year - it is such a pleasure to be photographing the weddings of such modern, feminist women who are taking control of their weddings and doing things in a way that reflects who they are and their ideas about modern families and relationships.

STOKE NEWINGTON UNITY CHURCH WEDDING

Emily and Jamie got ready together at their home surrounded by friends and family before walking together the short route to the progressive Stoken Newington Unity Church with lots of raucous singing and beautiful readings. The reception was just down the road at the very awesome MC Motors which was a dream to photograph in. The catering was by Tom Oldroyd - Londoners love their food so no limp chicken breasts here.

These photos are totally magical and just looking through them is making me smile. You really have captured all the emotion and happiness of the day in these photos. They’re so natural and gorgeous and personal and just HAPPY! Which is exactly what we wanted from the day and everything about it.

Thank you for being such a joy to have around on the day itself - you caught all the moments but you were so unobtrusive and relaxed, which really means a lot to us and set the tone for us. I think ultimately this comes through in the photos you were able to capture. Thank you for being so flexible and relaxed with the changing groups, and shot locations!

We really will truly treasure these photos forever and when we’re old and grey we’ll look at them and remember what a fun and happy day we had! Thank you again for giving that to us!

Cotswolds Wedding Photographer - Archie and Philippa get married at Charlton Park Estate

charlton park wedding photography

Sometimes everything just goes incredibly well at a wedding and it's visually very spectacular.  This was a wedding I had really been looking forward to.   Their ceremony took place at their family home on the front lawn, the ceremony was open air with the stunning backdrop of the house.  A whole gaggle of children (I lost count) and dogs accompanied Phili down the aisle.  After the ceremony guest walked over to a reception in front of the main house.  A highlight being the wing walker performance (Phili had for a short time held the record for the youngest wing walker in the world - amongst her many other achievements!).  The final stop was the teepee marquees in the woods filled with flora and fauna.  I don't think the day could have been any more perfect - at home, filled with family, friends, children and dogs and a glorious summers day.  I was literally in my element.

Lincolnshire Wedding Photographer - English country wedding for Rosa and Andy

Lincolnshire Wedding Photographer - English country wedding for Rosa and Andy

From the adorable local church to the countryside reception, Rosa and Andy's wedding was a delight to capture. A beautiful August day in Ingham punctuated with individuality....after all not many brides and grooms cycle all the way to their seats at wedding breakfast! Other favourite moments for me include the first marital head to head taking shape in the form of tug-of-war (with an extra special pair of shoes for the task) and an idyllic first dance outside in the fresh air. Wonderful!

Cambridge Wedding Photography - South Farm Wedding in Cambridgeshire

It's always fun to shoot at a new wedding venue and I'd been looking forward to photographing a wedding at South Farm in December when Natalie and Paul booked me last minute for this summer.  With a picturesque outdoor setting for the ceremony, an Asian tuk tuk on standby as the getaway vehicle and gorgeous grounds this was a pretty dreamy wedding to photograph - not to mention how beautiful Natalie looked.

Cotswolds Wedding Photographer - Stunning Oxfordshire wedding at Cornwell Manor

Sarah and Simon chose to become Mrs and Mr at Cornwell Manor, a hidden gem of a venue which was formerly a hunting lodge set in the heart of the Cotswolds.  A late afternoon ceremony allowed for the rains to pass and the afternoon was spent outside in the sunshine.  A proper English country garden wedding.

Petersham Nurseries Wedding Photographer ~ Winter Wedding for Niamh & Bryan
Now living in New York having moved to be with Bryan, Niamh wanted to have her wedding in London.  The ceremony was an intimate family gathering in Mayfair with drinks reception at The Connaught before a short break and rejoining for a large sit down feast at the extraordinary Petersham Nurseries - one of my favourite wedding venues in London.  As darkness fell the candles lit the glasshouses and the most lavish floral displays.

The Swann Theatre Wedding Photography ~ Nadia & Antony's Wedding In Stratford upon Avon
I was very blessed to have been present and captured a very special and intimate ceremony between Nadia and Antony last year when they had their civil ceremony in Clissold Park and so I was hugely excited to have the opportunity to photograph their full wedding a year later in Stratford Upon Avon.  With family connections to The Royal Shakespeare Company it seemed appropriate to hold the ceremony at The Swann Theatre.  Definitely the most unusual wedding venue I have attended and all the more special for it - with a wonderful mixture of religious influences.  It felt both theatrical and spiritual, solemn and entertaining.
