This privacy policy explains how Helen Abraham Photography collects, uses, and protects your personal data. It is written in plain English and complies with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who I am

I am Helen Abraham, a sole trader operating as Helen Abraham Photography, based in London, UK. I am the data controller for the personal information collected through this website.

2. What data I collect

When you use the contact form on this website, I collect your name, email address, and any other information you choose to provide in your message. I do not collect any other personal data unless you provide it voluntarily.

This website also uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics collects anonymous data including pages visited, time spent on the site, and general location (country/city level). It does not identify you personally. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

3. Why I collect it

I collect your contact details solely to respond to your enquiry and, if you become a client, to fulfil our contract. I do not use your data for marketing without your explicit consent, and I do not sell or share your data with third parties.

4. Legal basis for processing

Under UK GDPR, I process your data on the following grounds: your consent (when you submit the contact form), the performance of a contract (when you book my services), and my legitimate interests (in running and improving my business).

5. How long I keep your data

Enquiry data from people who do not become clients is kept for no longer than 12 months. Client data including contracts and correspondence is kept for 6 years in line with UK tax and legal requirements. Wedding photographs are kept securely for a period agreed with each client.

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data I hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, object to how I use your data, and withdraw consent at any time.

7. Cookies

This website uses cookies to analyse traffic via Google Analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings or by using the cookie consent banner on this site. Declining analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use the site.

8. Third party services

This website is hosted on Squarespace. Client image galleries are delivered via Pic Time. Both services have their own privacy policies and act as data processors on my behalf. I do not use Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, or Google+ plugins on this site.

This website displays an Instagram feed powered by Instagram (Meta Platforms Inc.). When you view this feed, Instagram may collect data about your visit in accordance with their own privacy policy, available at instagram.com/about/legal/privacy. I do not control this data collection.

9. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection authority, at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.

10. Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Continued use of the website after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
