A WEDDING AT SYON PARK’S GREAT CONSERVATORY
S + L
Shwe and Lewis were married at the remarkable Great Conservatory at Syon Park, one of London’s most extraordinary glasshouse venues. Their ceremony took place outdoors in the gardens, with friends and family gathered beneath warm summer skies as they exchanged vows.
Moments after the ceremony ended the heavens suddenly opened, sending everyone running into the shelter of the conservatory. Inside, the air quickly filled with warmth, music and laughter as guests mingled among the cactus rooms while the rain passed. Later, as the evening light began to soften, the celebrations continued with dinner set beneath the soaring glass roof of the main conservatory space.
OUTDOOR WEDDING CEREMONY
One of the joys of Syon Park is its versatility whatever the weather. In summer the gardens offers couples the opportunity to hold a civil ceremony outdoors, surrounded by greenery with the Great Conservatory as a backdrop. After the ceremony, Shwe and Lewis slipped away briefly to exchange their private vows in one of the cactus houses.
PORTRAITS IN SYON PARK GARDENS
Syon Park is a joy to photograph in for the incredible variety of spaces for portrait photographs. The Great Conservatory is extraordinary in itself, full of soft light, towering palms and dramatic glass architecture, while the gardens outside offer a completely different atmosphere. For Shwe and Lewis, it meant portraits that felt both grand and intimate, moving between the warmth of the conservatory and the quieter corners of the grounds.
RECEPTION IN SYON PARK’S GREAT CONSERVATORY
After the ceremony, guests gathered for drinks either in the cactus houses or out on the lawn beside the conservatory, before moving into the main glasshouse for the evening celebrations. As the light softened, dinner and speeches were held beneath the soaring glass roof of the Great Conservatory, with the space gradually transforming into the dance floor later in the evening.
“YOU MADE US BOTH FEEL SO SPECIAL AND CAPTURED EVERY KEY MOMENT OF THE DAY. YOUR PROFESSIONALISM MEANT WE COULD RELAX, TAKE IT ALL IN AND FOCUS ON BEING IN THE MOMENT”
