about

I'm an award winning documentary wedding photographer based in London and I've been on this adventure for nearly ten years; travelling all over the world to capture amazing stories in beautiful locations.

I’m the wedding photographer people come to when they would rather spend their wedding day with their friends and family than spending hours posing for pictures. Who want the sort of pictures that will evoke love, memories and laughter. Who spend more time thinking about how to put on the greatest party to celebrate their friends and family than finding the exact shade of bridesmaid ribbons. Not that I don’t like attention to detail - I love photographing beautiful flowers and majestic venues - it’s just that I like the people more - and that’s the story I want to tell.

I’m used to my couples being camera shy - I am too, so I relate - but it’s my job to put you at your ease, allowing you to relax and laugh and create photographs that you recognise yourself in. You probably have lots of questions so take a read on my FAQ page or send me an email.

I’m discrete - you’ll barely know I’m there, and several people will probably ask how I know you because they will assume I’m a friend.

Getting married in London

I’m a Londoner, and I’m a wedding photographer so I love nothing more than combining those two passions to shoot and document a special day in my home town.  Whether it’s a civil ceremony in a licensed venue/registry office, a traditional church nuptials or a civil partnership for a same sex couple, London is the most open and permissive city in the UK for people in love.

Where to get married in London?

Getting married in London means you have the most incredible range of simple and luxury wedding venues to choose from: from leafy suburban nurseries (Petersham Nurseries, Niamh & Bryan) to urban cool industrial spaces (MC Motors, Emily & Jamie ) to magical deconsecrated churches (The Asylum in Peckham, Anna & Stuart) to Iconic city skyscrapers (The Gherkin) to romantic and elegant central London mansions (Dartmouth House).  Or perhaps you dream of walking down the aisle at the jaw dropping Natural History Museum, before entertaining your reception under the whale.  Or you may want to mix up traditional, with the oldest church in London (St Barts, Alice & Jack), before moving onto a contemporary London restaurant such as St John’s.  I especially love a good pub wedding - especially one with personal connections - maybe the first place you went on a date?  So many pubs are now willing to offer exclusive hire on a Saturday and they make for a relaxed day with local suppliers.   All of these offer picturesque and photogenic backdrops for a set of golden hour images that you will cherish - however camera shy you are!

Pre-wedding photography

Some of these venues have spaces where your bridal party can get ready, but getting wed in the city that you live in can open up the option of having your preparation photos at home (alone, or together if you are a more modern couple seeking to abandon a few age old traditions).  Or you can treat your bridal party to one of the unique Airbnb’s you can find in town that can cater for a large party and allow for the wedding day to spill over into a whole weekend of celebrations and time with friends and family.  Hotels can be great but in London rooms tend to be quite small unless you get a suite so it can make space a little restrictive if you have a number of bridesmaids trying to get ready at the same time as having hair, make-up and documentary photography team in action!

Many couples choose to take their vows in a more intimate commitment a few days before in front of a few close family and friends before walking down the aisle to a grander blessing and party at another venue.

Your celebration, your way

In the past, weddings followed quite a standard format but today’s bridal planning and the available inspiration from wedding blogs and imagery on social media means that you can find ways to personalise every aspect of tying the knot from the vows that you write, to the font type to the style of photography that suits you and you can prioritise the aspects that are most important to you.  Want to blow the budget on your dress and photos?  Maybe think about eloping!  Want to have as many people as you can possibly fit then have more guests arrive for the evening reception - by holding your wedding in London where your friends live it’s much easier to split the day and the invites without offending anyone.

London wedding photography

So why book me for your London wedding photography? My documentary style of taking pictures is relaxed and creative. I won’t ask you to pose awkwardly and I will ensure that the photography fits into your day and not the other way around. I’m local and have a love for London cityscapes. We will have a chance to meet and discuss what you want from your photography.

So I would heartily recommend anyone considering tying the knot in this incredible city of London and if you are then I would love to chat to you about your wedding photography so, please do get in touch! There are no additional travel costs for London wedding photography.
