Getting married at Islington Town Hall
When your family is scattered around the world sometimes your friends become your family and that's how it was for Nicole and Greg who had their wedding in Islington last month at the grand Islington Town Hall. Islington Town Hall is one of my favourite ceremony venues in East London, this iconic London building has variety of spaces available whether you are having a super intimate gathering of 12 guests, or 120 guests in the council chamber and it’s hallways offer a beautiful light filled backdrop for couples portraits, whatever the weather - and of course you get to descend the grand staircase for that classic confetti filled photograph with your friends and family outside the wedding venue.
An East London Pub Wedding
After a short and intimate ceremony they led their guests through the sunny streets of London to a favourite and previously local pub of theirs, The Drapers Arm for a gin, champagne, delicious feast and some truly heartfelt speeches that brought on laughter, tears and more laughter.
Wedding photos in London
My London wedding couples tend to be pretty laid back and not wanting to spend hours of their wedding day taking portraits so my approach is quite documentary. I’m watching and waiting for those special moments to unfold naturally in front of me. Islington Town Hall lends itself perfectly for a few group photos on the steps before you head to your next venue. Nicole and Greg led their wedding party through the streets of Islington after the ceremony so that I was able to capture lots of spontaneous shots of them and their wedding party along the way.
